Executive Director

The Albemarle Commission is a Regional Planning Commission formed under Article 19 of Chapter 153A of the North Carolina General Statutes and serves a 10 county area as the Region R Council of Governments. The Board of Delegates is now seeking applications for the position of Executive Director.  This employee serves as the chief executive officer of the Commission and is responsible for administering and expending local, state and federal funds; the management and supervision of professional and technical employees; and the formulation and execution of goals and objectives as approved by the Board of Delegates.  Applicants must have a 4 year degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Rural Planning, Political Science or Business Administration.  Desired qualifications include a certificate in municipal or county administration from the North Carolina School of Government and a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a lead administrator in local, regional, or state government.
