Text Box: What is the Northeastern Workforce Development Board? 
The Northeastern Workforce Development Board is charged with creating a local workforce system that meets the education and training needs of local business and job seekers.
The Board consist of a group of community leaders charged with planning, policy development, implementation, and oversight responsibilities for workforce development programs and services, and how WIA funds are used in our Local Area.  The Board's authority is established under Federal and State legislation, and its meetings are open to the public. A majority of the Board's membership is from the private sector and the Chairman is chosen from among the private sector business and industry members.
What does the Workforce Development Board do?
The Workforce Development Board, in partnership with the local chief elected official(s), focuses on strategic planning, policy development and oversight of the local workforce investment system. The Board's role is to ensure that the local workforce development system is market-driven and responsive in meeting the needs of employers and job seekers alike.
